Step aside Microsoft, Google, and ...ThinkFree;-), there is a new global player in town by the name of Zoho. Zoho is better known in Europe mostly because we Americans usually stay focused on our American superstar success stories, like Google and Apple, but just to let you in on a little secret, Zoho is owned by India's largest and most successful software company, Adventnet. Zoho is a little known powerhouse that is just beginning to deeply shake the Internet's landscape, and has created a new milestone in the arena of web browser injected rich Office Suite applications. These Apps are very tightly integrated, and easier to use. Zoho and its online application services suite will soon join, large internet player notoriety alongside, Amazon, Apple, Ebay, Craigslist, Google, Yahoo, and Facebook.
What is it that Zoho is doing so different?

Well, much like people's daily appreciation of Google marches on, on a day to day basis, people will grow to understand Zoho's value in their lives. Zoho's effects will start slow, starting with people loosening their grip on their data storage attitudes, and let go of the myth that they need Microsoft Office to servive. Once people understand their online software & data is actually easier to use, safer because it is backed up, and cheaper to store, change will be swift, and heartless to companies like Microsoft that did not read this paradigm shift correctly. Expensive software on devices like, desktop computers, laptops, etc. will be a thing of the past. People might go as I call it "Internet Skinny", and quickly embrace the virtual hard disk space, and software applications allowing individuals the freedom to own nothing but a smart cell phone, and only require occassional use of a friend's or family's computer simply because browsing is better on big screen, but not essential. Will Zoho kill the computer? No, Zoho among other Web 2.0 pioneers will only makes computing on the internet and desktop better, and it should and will become something you can truly rely on.
These virtual desktop environments are internet blazing technologies that are really what the Web 2.0 buzz is all about. Zoho is beginning to be brought to light in mentions like this across the globe, but as 2007 comes to a close, I predict Zoho will be talked about as one of the great companies that changed the shape of the internet, well into 2008 and beyond.
